With summer behind us, it’s time for supply chains to start preparing for the coming festive rush.
Here at Digipal, it’s been no different. We’ve been supporting multiple retailers as they get ready for their busiest time of the year by streamlining their operations with our asset tracking technology.
Our sustainability mission
We announced our partnership with the sustainability and tree-planting organisation, Carma, last month – but we thought we’d dive a bit deeper in what that partnership means for our clients and customers.
At Digipal, we believe sustainability is at the heart of the future of every supply chain and we want to help our customers make a positive impact on the environment.
Moving to Digipal Plastic Pallets doesn’t just mean that you’re saving thousands of trees each year; it also now means that for every pallet purchased, a tree gets planted!
Working with Digipal means you’re decarbonising in so many more ways than one.
Working with UK retailers
Retailers here in the UK understand that customers are looking at how companies are decarbonising – and for many big retailers there’s a huge opportunity in reducing emissions in supply chains.
UK supermarkets have taken huge strides in the last few years to further reduce carbon emissions for their supply chains from improving processes to adding Electric HGVs to their supply chain but also through switching to using our reusable, nestable and trackable plastic pallets.
Our pallets are helping move them closer to net zero emissions by reducing weight during transportation and streamlining operations by reducing the space taken up by pallets in warehouses.
Logistics trends in the retails space
As we said earlier, the supply chain industry is about to hit its yearly peak ahead of the festive period so now is the best possible time to read up on the latest trends we’re spotting in the logistics space – specifically in retail.
With the latest technology promising to make a real impact on how retail supply chains work and the further push for net zero creating new opportunities, we could be on the cusp of a supply chain revolution.
